Isadora Duncan (1877-1927 ) had a vision of the new dance and the Dancer of the future being of the freest body and the highest intelligence . She was called the Mother of Modern Dance and fought for the rights of women.
This workshop will focus on Isadora ́s philosophies as well as her technique and original repertory.

The class is open for professional mimes, actors and  dancers.
There will also be places for performers, circus artists and those currently studying any of the above disciplines.


Kathleen Quinlan

Kathleen Quinlan is originally from New York and studied at Boston Conservatory of Music and S.U.N.Y. at Purchase, since 1987 she has been living in Stockholm.
In New York City , she was a soloist in Anna Sokolow ́s Dance Company as well as performing as a dancer in the tradition of Isadora Duncan in The Companies of Maria Teresa Duncan, Julia Levein and Hortense Kooluris.
Ms. Quinlan worked closely with Anna Duncan. Anna was one of Isadora ́s original pupils from the first School in Grunewald, Germany in 1905. Together they worked on her archives and after Anna ́s death Kathleen inherited the collection and had two exhibitions at the Dance Museum in Stockholm: “In the footsteps of Isadora :Anna Duncan .”
Since Kathleen’s arrival In Stockholm she toured as a solo dancer with Concert pianist Roland Pöntinen and worked as a choreographer for Ika Nord’s productions.
In 2016 she formed the company “In a living tradition” together with Lilly Zetterberg. The company works on keeping the Art of Isadora alive with performances and workshops.
Kathleen has taught at the University of Dance in Piteå, Ballet Academy in Stockholm , the Royal Swedish Ballet School and various Dance centers in Europe.
