ENG: In SHOW(ER), the group brings together their experience in mime, dance, performance, and clowning to explore what emerges at the intersection of these art forms.
The work is rooted in a collaborative creative process, drawing on the fundamental principles of mime and clown technique. They also investigate what it means to be a feminist performing arts collective today, using the body and movement as their point of departure. The group seeks to create a space that embraces the body – both one’s own and others’ – with generosity and humour, where the female-coded body is allowed to be funny, strange, and free. Their hope is to offer a complicated utopia: a place that does not erase friction but still makes room for safety and intimacy. In the shower room, secrets are exposed, and boundaries of privacy are constantly created and dissolved.

I projektet SHOW(ER) samlar gruppen sina erfarenheter från mim, dans, performance och clownkonst för att undersöka vad som händer i mötet mellan dessa konstformer. Arbetet bygger på ett samskapande där gruppen utgår från mimens och clownteknikens grundprinciper. De undersöker också vad det innebär att vara en feministisk scenkonstgrupp i dag, med kroppen och rörelsen som utgångspunkt. Här vill de skapa ett rum som har en tillåtande och humoristisk blick på den egna och andras kroppar – där den kvinnligt kodade kroppen får vara rolig, konstig och fri. Förhoppningen är att erbjuda en krånglig utopi, en plats som inte saknar skav men som ändå tillåter trygghet och intimitet. I duschrummet exponeras hemligheter, och där uppstår och upplöses zoner av integritet.

D(USCH) is a newly formed collective of six mime performers. Drawing on mime technique, they create stories and transform bodies into rich poetry and absurd humour.
D(USCH) is driven by an interest in interdisciplinary artistic practices and feminist inquiry within the performing arts.
Through the lathered world of the shower, they imagine the possibility of the wet, solitary body dissolving into togetherness. Here, the idea of a female-coded naked body emerging from behind a shower curtain is stripped of its sexual tension. It becomes something else. It becomes absurd and humorous. A celebration of caring for one’s own body. A celebration of uncomplicated bare skin. In this way, the artistic exploration embraces playfulness while still poking at harmful social structures.

The collective consists of Klara Nikolaj Svejgaard, Vera Fhager, Sofia Pilesjö, Merete Lindholm, Ebba König Winqvist, and Sofia Källman. All six are recent graduates of the Mime Acting Programme at Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) and have extensive experience working together, even though D(USCH) itself is a newly established constellation. Alongside their training in mime, they bring a wide range of artistic practices to the collective, including singing, directing, playwriting, farce, and choreography.

SHOW(ER) marks the beginning of the group’s collaboration and will continue to be developed during a residency at Gottsunda Dans & Teater.

D(USCH) är ett nystartat kollektiv som består av sex mimskådespelare. Med utgångspunkt i mimtekniken framställer de historier och förvränger kroppar till fyllig poesi och löjlig humor. D(USCH) drivs av ett intresse för tvärkonstnärliga arbetssätt och feministiskt undersökande
inom scenkonsten. Genom den upplöddrade duschvärlden framkallar de en möjlighet för den blöta ensamma kroppen att uppgå i okomplicerad samvaro. Där löftet om att en kvinnligt
kodad naken kropp ska uppenbara sig från bakom ett draperi uttöms på sexuell spänning. Och blir något annat. Blir absurd och humoristisk. Blir en hyllning till att ta hand om den egna
kroppen. En hyllning till oladdad nakenhet. På så vis gäller det konstnärliga utforskandet både det lilla och lustiga, likväl som ruckande på skadliga strukturer i samhället.

Medverkande är Klara Nikolaj Svejgaard, Vera Fhager, Sofia Pilesjö, Merete Lindholm, Ebba König Winqvist och Sofia Källman. De är samtliga nyexaminerade studenter från mimskådespelarprogrammet på SKH, och har stor vana att arbeta ihop även om D(USCH) konstellationen är helt ny. Utöver mimskådespelet har de olika och skilda erfarenheter som inkluderar sång, regi, dramatiskt skrivande, fars och koreografi.

Projektet SHOW(ER) är starten på samarbetet och kommer också att tas vidare under residens på Gottsunda Dans och Teater.
